I'm the current care taker of this 54 chevy custom, I have seen it in an add in a chrome it catalog. It is powered by a 235 I 6 with a saginaw 4 speed and 55 to 57 chevy rearend. Thanks for any info .
Perfect! I wish I had a job caretaking that one! I am a Moonglow freak. That one hits the spot. What color is it. I see a little blue or purple in the finish. Great powertrain selection.. Do you have interior pics? Is that a 40 Ford coupe on your garage, disguised as christmas Tree Lights? I bet Santa likes you!
Frank and Carol from Chrome-It used to own it. I believe they got it from upstate NY. Maybe someone from up there can chime in.
Nice 54 ; Looks like a car that was built in Hamlton,Ohio about twenty some years ago , Charley Brewer built it and was painted white at that time ? I always liked the car ;
Look on fotki.com/ rikster ,and find Charley Brewer custom cars , there is a picture of the white car .
Just gave it a fresh coat of black after finishing some rust repair. The interior is black&white r&p .That is a 40 Ford,owned one for 15 years,sold it cuz it got to be faster than Me.Bought the chevy as a winter project (on my 3rd winter) it's getting close.
There is a guy here in new jersey that has a Moonglow twin. When I first saw it the damned thing gave me chills. I knew the original was crushed so I was positive it wasn't it. The car was identical and had Moonglow II on it.
hay TEX : Any up dates on info. on your 54 , Would be interesting to fine more info on your car and who built it ?
HELLO! MY NAME IS FRANK AND WE WERE THE SECOND OWNER OF YOUR '54 CHEVY CUSTOM. I HAVE THE HISTORY OF THE CAR, WHERE IT WAS BUILT AND WHO BUILT IT, WHAT WE DID TO IT, PHOTOGRAPHS, AND THE HISTORY AFTER WE SOLD IT. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, CONTACT US...EMAIL: [email protected]. LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB ON IT....SADLY, IT WAS NEGLECTED AFTER WE SOLD IT!
I'm am finally in touch with the right people,they know all about this car and have shared a lot with me.The car is close to being finished , will post some pictures soon. Thanks to all.(the Hamb is great)
OK no offense intended but you were just cruising the web and came across this thread on the HAMB? Just curious how people find threads like this one is all.
Yeah, Benno...Me too! But I'm more...'bewildered' than curious. This HAMB away from HAMB is a small world.
Great looking car!. Tell us all about the rear window and who did it. I am up against the exact same problem. Looks like Plexiglas or Lexan.
THANKS, I done the rear window myself with 1/8 lexan,that is what was in the car when I got it so I had a good pattern. It still took a week of cutting and fitting to get it in so I was happy with it.
Looks great hope to see some of the Kingsmen this summer...talk the guys into coming out to Davisburg for Sins of Steel...1st Saturday in June...your Kustoms are always a highlight for the show...
