Love these cars. My dad bought a new Customline 2-door, light blue with a white top, 239 and a stick, no radio. I'd just turned 4 when we went to pick it up in Shawsheen Mass and remember riding home in the back seat surrounded in the new car smell. Right around the same time, my favorite uncle who lived across the street bought a 2-door wagon just like yours, 239/stick in light green. He had an accident a year later and had it painted a medium green metallic when it got fixed. He was an electrician and it was his work truck. My dad kept his until '58 when he traded it in on a '53 Caddy 4-door, which got traded in a few years on a real nice '55 Coupe deVille. He drove that until he took it off the road in '64 for rust repair and paint and some motor work. My uncle gave him the wagon for a daily driver (5 kids by now) and he drove that while the Caddy was getting done. My dad's sister bought a loaded '53 Victoria new that was cream with a white top and that was a beauty, so yeah, these cars are in my DNA. In high school there was a nice metallic maroon '54 with a Caddy engine that had the look and the sound. Love your wagon, it goes without saying.

We went to the big show in Colliersville and was misinformed about our cars being on the Landers Ford dealership, The show is sponsored by the Ford dealer.

Our club received a plaque from the mayor and Don accepted the award.

Our awards will be this evening.

I'm fighting with a new camera and still having trouble posting but I am going to try a few more here, if I continue to flounder I get my daughter to help me when we get home.

These were taken at the BBQ last night. HRP

  18. This is the car the tech advisors for the club picked as our favorite '54 at the show.

The car is as straight as a string and the engine is a all aluminum 427, this think sounded bad arse! HRP

go to go but, always good to get home - how is your area after all the wild weather?

  20. Fortunately, in the upstate we were spared the severe weather, we did get some rain but the high winds that were predicted never showed up and we suffered no damage at all. HRP

  21. I didn't see any photos of coupes. Weren't there any in attendance? I used to have one of the little short roof coupes with a 302/auto in it but sold it knowing it was too far back on the burner for me to get around to it and it was staying outside.

  22. You are right Don, there were no coupes in attendance and at the last convention we went to in Novi, Michigan there was only one mainline and it was a nice original survivor.

They are all nice but to be perfectly honest I have a soft spot for the coupes and they are my favorite body style but in this area they are rare.

    There were no courriers ether.HRP

My buddy and I were checking out a really nice restored 54 Victoria at a cruise in this simmer and he ask me if the wheel covers were correct on it. I told him no, they were 53 caps as they had a plain outer ridge and 54's had the raised "bumps" where the 53's were plain. The owner heard us and jumped out of his chair to tell me I was crazy, they were the same for 53 and 54. I didn't want to argue with him so I said OK, what ever. A couple weeks later I saw the same car at another cruise in with the correct 54 caps. The owner saw me checking the car out, again he jumped out of his chair, he told me he had done a little research and his car was a late 54 and they had used the updated caps so he found a set to be more accurate. I told him nice car and kept walking:rolleyes:

Mine's a coupe. First Mainline I've ever owned, all the rest were Customlines, all Coupes. 10 of 'em. Guess I got most of 'em, but I was lookin'! Had 2 at one time, all the rest were 'sporadic'.
I've found all the Customline chrome, (finally) My Coupe was located 3 blocks from my Aptos, CA. beach house! An elderly gent had it, it was a V8 stick. (no O.D.)
I'd see it a few times a week, never nailed it down, he just said "not for sale". (1975)
Ex wife left, I moved to San Jose, new life, new wife. Visiting son one rainy Saturday, son Rich says "54 Ford in the paper, let's go see it..." (1990)
We went, up the foothills 15 miles, find the '54 on a car trailer. Gadzooks! It's the Aptos '54, the old man's green Coupe! I duck walk under the back...Factory green paint under the floors, frame's still a dull black...NO RUST!
Car lived on the coast, but kept inside...Low mileage...son Rich (rich son) bought it on the spot, "Happy Father's Day!"
We trailered it home, put a battery in and pumped a little air into the gas tank...replaced rubber hose at fuel pump, then...cranked it over, started right up!
A little 'tired', but less than 80K miles, odometer and door service stickers.
A brand new 406 is going in, along with a heavy duty '68 toploader 3 speed.
Narrow 9" rear, 3.90 gear. Not a real 'sleeper', as it has a solid lifter 406 cam, Crane adjustable rockers. The Chevys can hear that. No surprises. Huh! Like I could find a race around here any more...But! Eagle field is 15 miles away. (as the crow flies)

What was the total number of Club cars? Who had the longest drive? Did you get a club photo of all the cars lined up??

Nice color palette on the cars, part of what makes the 50’s cars so cool.

  29. I'll have to check with the president ( Don Allan) but it seems like he announce there are about 350 dues paying members, we also have some international members on the '54 Ford club of America web site.

The long distance award went to Jerry May from Salina, Kansas.

I didn't get one with everyone in a line but took several shots in line. HRP
