54 Chevy sedan trunk emblem help........

I was wanting to freshen up my emblem on the trunk and I noticed that it looks like there was a bigger emblem mounted at one time. I would assume that it was the original that was replaced. I have searched all over and can not find anything but the standard emblem which is the size that i have now. Anybody ever seen this?

Looks like some one, did a really crappy tape off for the last paint job . The emblem is
the proper size.

53- 54 Chev decklids were the same. Sounds like you may have a 53 decklid as their emblems were alot bigger

The 53 Chevy rear emblem does not look like a 54 enough to have that slightly larger shape. Here is a 53 rear view.
Is it possible someone removed the 54 emblem, taped off just that area to address rust under the emblem and simply repainted just that area resulting in the slightly larger area on your trunk?

There is only one 54 trunk emblem and you have it. Also, like the nut^^^^^^^^above said, lets see some more photos.

 

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I am currently lowering the car 3" in the back with blocks and cutting two coils in the front. The car is a utility sedan with 36,000 original miles. My plan is to run firestone 3-1/4" wide whites, oem chrome wheels and spider caps. Here are some pics in stock form-
