Cool build volksjunkie. Is that your bus in the background ? I've got a 63 standard with a sunroof and 49 fleetline also.

Thanks, the bus is a 58, long term project I've been building for a friend.
I just let my 65 13 window go yesterday. Oh well it helped put this project back on track ...

Thanks ! I work for a dental supply company, and I show pics of your office to Dr.s quite a bit . None of the places I've been in are that cool !

  6. LOL that's funny! I think my dad and my friends show around more pictures of the office than I do. I'm glad you like it....the funnest part of the whole deal for me has been seeing what a kick out of it folks get. I never expected that.

I didn't know what you were talking about at first but I just went and checked out your pics Dr Dave. Wow! That's the coolest dental office I've ever seen!! I'd have the best teeth in the world if you were my dentist cuz I'd be there all the time.

Alright not trying to change subjects.....now where's some poncho updates?

Used a piece of 4 inch exhaust pipe, than made a ring from 3/16 round stock.

I should have some pics somewhere. I made the ring by first making a paper pattern, transferring it to sheet metal. Its one piece with a seam.
Maybe Ill do the next one as a how to...?

Well, figured I'd post some updates, Im pretty bad about posting as I work. Anyways, I got the rear suspension about 85% done. C notch , custom built trailing arms , etc. panhard is from welded series . Still need to position and weld lower bag mounts . Finally finished my bead roller , so I built a new floor for the drivers side and got one of the trunk pieces made . Also stripped the dash ,I filled a few holes and did the body work already , haven't taken any picks . Plan to get the dash and door jams finished this week . Need to get the doors blasted and primed , than I'll get the nose back on and finish the body . I have five months to finish !

So it looks like your going with a parallel 4-link? Got any more pics of your rear set up?

Thanks guys ! The rear is actually three link, I built the trailing arms from 2x2 stock with adjustable bushings from welded series .

Interesting approach. I like Welder Series' notch kit. For $90, you can't go wrong. They actually look like they make a ton of nice parts. I can't believe this is the first time I've heard of them.

    Questions though:
What rear end did you go with?

When the bags are deflated, do the trailing arms put an angle to the bottom of the airbag?

Did you use the factory spring mount for the trailing arms?

Just found this thread and it's a great resource. I'm running a Fat Man on my 54 Chieftan and your build photos are interesting to say the least. Keep the photos coming!

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out the best way to go without chopping up my rear seat as well. I might end up doing it though.

Keep up the good work. I'm learning a lot from your build.

    Geez, it's been a while !
Got married in July, kid on the way in April . Time to get cracking !
I put the car outside for a few weeks so I could get the nose clip sandblasted and cleaned up . Filled some holes here and there and finally got the nose back on the car .
Ordered up some smithy's for my exhaust system and a wiring harness from Rebel .
    Anyhow , here's a few pics . ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383099468.223721.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383099493.587704.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383099529.686684.jpg
