I like the color , sweet truck.
Hey frank, Amazing build you got yourself here. Your attention to detail is superb and I love this truck. I have one question about your current air ride setup. I see that you are running only four valves, front and back. Are you gonna run check valves on the lines running to your airbags?
Reason I am asking is that you can get air transfer side to side when cornering if you do not run them on a four valve setup. I cannot see enough in the pictures to see if you ran them at the T fitting near your valves.
Hi 53Chevtrev, many thanks.
I preferred not to install 8-valve because I was not interested
in having 4-wheel independent, so the other 4 valves that
I have not installed I left in the garage .
You think I have problems with only 4 valves?
While cornering, with a 4 valve setup, the airbag being compressed will transfer and increase the air pressure to the opposite side air bag. This pressure transfer will lift the side of the truck on the inside of the turn, increasing body roll which greatly decreases handling. I did not see if you are going to be running sway bars, as these tend to help with the problem of air transfer from side to side.
In most cases, even if you don't want to run independent adjustment for all corners, you still run 8 valves, two for each airbag so that you do not get the problems highlighted above. Just something to think about, not sure how hard you will be driving your truck.
I've run air bags in both configurations, 4 valve, 8 valve. 8 valve is far superior to the 4 valve setup.
Frank, I had a similar problem with my 57 Jeep air shocks; different setup, same result. When cornering, the outside shock would pump up the inside shock, making far too much body lean.
I fitted individual valves; problem solved.
Happy New Year to all.
I as well did not care about the individuality of the 8 valve set up and initially did the same as you and just put 4 valves in.....it rode/cornered like shit.
I then installed the other 4 valves. I didn't wire the switches in for the individual corners rather just wired up the up/down (all four wheels), front/back (split the system in half), and side to side (mainly for leveling if the need arises).
9.9 times outta 10 I just use the up/down switch, very rarely I need to level the truck if my weight loading gets wonky (some of my friends are kinda large) BUT the cornering and curves are night and day difference and it provides a locked in ride that wasn't there when I originally had 4 valves....
Just from experience.... I would put em in.
And the other thing I did was I installed an air hose coupler port on mine.....I carry a coiled stretch of air hose behind the seat and can fill tires and run an impact.....never hadda change one of my tires but have changed a couple buddies on the side of the road with air....sure does make it easier.....
thank you very much to all for your helpfull advice,
I did not know about this...
It will be my concern to install the other 4 valves...
It will be a few more days of work, but it does not matter, I'll do it soon .
Many many thanks
By installing check valves, we solve the problem?
At the end of the air in the circuit and 'locked ...
Wow!! you got lucky on that info before going on with the rest of the job..
All i can say is you deserve that this truck comes out the best it can be..
I can't believe I have not seen this thread before. I just got caught up on it & can't wait to see it finished. You are very talented & do some amazing work. I was leery when you said white for the color but it turned out great. Now I could not image a better color. Well Done!
Many thanks Eddie1,
@ Ronald66 and Bandito: both do not go in a hurry, I will be what I will read the back license plate . Thanks
I'm working on adding other 4 valves to my air ride,
but there are new updates.
I have installed new bedsides, rear bumper, rear fender, ecc....
The wiring harness is working perfectly
Looking great frank! I'm glad you decided to add the other 4 valves to your setup. I would hate for you to get this beautiful truck finished only for it to perform badly. Keep up the great work! Where abouts in Italy are you located?

Thanks, I live in Rome but I would like to live in the U.S.
Frank, your truck looks absolutely beautiful, nice job. Did you ever get the brake problem taken care of?....Jim
Good god that is bad ass.....I really like that rear bumper set up, is that apron factory or did you custom make it. I honestly dont see a way to make that any nicer than you did, congrats!!!!!!
I can understand the open drive line , a modern V-8, even a heater , but to delete the somewhat rare corner windows ????????? scrubba
Purely gorgeous truck! Amazing work.
to each his own right? He wanted a standard cab not the deluxe, I cannot knock him the truck is tits!
Hi Oldman, many thanks .
the brake problem seems to be solved, there was air in the master cylinder, next week I should finish.
I also had two tubes Brake line to which I had not done a good double flare and so I bought a Eastwood Double Flaring Tool. Exceptional tool!!
Make a double flange on stainless steel tubes is easy and pleasant
the rear bumber setup is a apron factory...from Classipparts.
Thank you very much
Thanks to all
Looks killer! Imaculate craftsmenship, hope to see some full pictures of the truck soon! I like the white paint job on this truck! white always makes it easier for a kustom paint job later on down the road!
Wow! Your truck looks Fantastic! Beautiful.
Frank, I just caught up on the last couple months of your build. Amazing work, your truck is perfect, Congrats!!! I cant wait to see more pictures! BTW, I dig the 54 Chevy wheel you used!
Thank you very much to all,
your compliments are very much appreciated
Looks amazing frank, I would like to see some pics of the first cruise and the interior when you get to that point.....
You've done a stellar job, you have plenty to be proud of.
On a different note, I'll trade ya.....you wanna live in the states, I wanna live in Italy...heck, my pad already has an AD in the garage.....needs finished though
Spettacolo!!!, bellissimo lavoro, complimenti!!
Thank you very much Salty .
While I'm working on the bed,
the upholsterer is already working on the seat bench.
By the end of April I would like to go on the road .
Ps: If you come to live in Italy less than a month after
you return in the U.S.
