Nice work !! A little imagination goes a long way, Im really digging the no bag approach. We're trying to go a similar direction with my 52 but the stock tank won't allow me to move the springs inside so Im trying to think around that. Ive been fascinated with this car since I saw it at Rusty's benifit show with a "to do" list on it. I cant wait to see it in person again with all the new chit done ! Keep up the good work, its inspirational.

I went with the same rear glass and rear end as you on my car. I was wondering how did you re-attach your package tray under the new window?

Ingenious suspension. Curious, what kind of shock setup are you going to run in the rear? When I go off frame, I am stealing your idea. Cheers.

  12. Great build thread! as far as the tank goes I just succeeded and had a custom tank fabbed up for mine. I'm building a 50 Chevy and using the Gambino notch with bags and instead of going nuts trying to figure out the tank situation I just had a new one made.

This is some true inspiration. So much of what your doing so far is exactly stuff im considering. Thanks for taking the time to document ALL of this! I love the idea of not running bags. I really dont want to, but I think its almost a must in Colorado. I love how that set-up is non-evasive into the rear seat, although it does cut down on tank space. Also, it looks like one of the spring perches is located right beneath a body mount...what is your plan there? Could you provide some more info on how he retrofit the tanny crossmember for the T-5? This is also something I will be tackling soon. I cant wait to see the end stance and get an idea of just how low that rear will end up!

This is awesome, man. Great job on the chop; your post definitely helped me solve my issue with what to do about the rear glass on my '53; also, your suspension stuff is really a great how to for someone who hasn't done it before like me. Right on!

Looking forward to your next post!

Do you know where that shckle is going to sit in relation to the truck floor? Just under? Or in it? Hard to tell.

Car looks cool! Keep it up!

It don't get much cooler than this. When you say full custom you mean it. Look'n good so far.
I met Gene at Cobo Hall this past year, he is a great guy. You are very fortunate that he is helping you on this build.

A couple questions since I'm about to do the same to the rear of my 52.

    1. Are you going to move the rear wheel tubs up? I am running g-78 15s and even a 4 inch drop is going to make it rub.

    2. Did you move the stock leafs back to center the spring perch pin?
