all passenger car questions does a 53 and 54 chevy use the same front & rear bumper brackets is a 54 & 55 front bumper filler the same is a 54 & 55 Rear bumper the same reason for asking is i have a 53 and just ran across a good deal on a newly rechromed 54 bumper so if i was to switch over then im gonna need to know if a 54 bumper will fit on my 53 brackets and if a 55 filler is same as a 54 then im thinking about doing the same swap in the rear too but i can only find a good 55 bumper ---- so is a 54 and 55 rear bumper the same and will it bolt to my 53 brackets offfppppphhh- not sure i wanna step off into this or not but i gotta ask
I'll have to look when I get home, but I'm fairly certain the brackets from front to rear are different on a 54.
BTW: I have no idea on the 55 stuff, but I would presume they are different. Maybe you can make 'em work with a little ingenuity though.
You can always make your own brackets to attach em, go for it, body width I think is the same. It should fit if I am thinking right. Jason

Ditto 53 & 54 are the same, 55 changes & from one of your old posts I have a 54. the bumpers were turned up side down tucked, welded & smoothed in. Did you still want photos?
flatblack ----yeah let me check out them photos i heard somewhere not too sure where that a 54 & 55 shared the same bumper , just curious if someone knew for sure
Rears I think are the same, same rear half of the car anyway... The gold one of Custom54 on here has a 56 front bumper. They look a lot alike for the 54-55 fronts but I think the mounting and the splits are different unless you can get a 1 piece.
