    Just got a 1953 chevy 210 with a 235 in it was wondering what grade of oil to use. My 41 had insert bearings this has babitt , thanx Phil

    Did you juxtapose pose that? I believe the 235 has insert bearings, your 41 probably had babbitt bearings.

    235's up till 53 were babbit pounders and splash.
    Use 30 or 40 wt oil even a 15/40 works well.

    my 41 has a 58 235 in it, Iwas told the 53 235 had Babbitt.

    I run Rotella straight 30 wt in my '54 235 and have for as long as I've had the car(about 5 years).
