Some time ago I traded for this 52 Chevy. It's had some mods that I think I can identify like the Merc. style skirts and 55 Chev eyebrows. Are those Desoto taillights? Maybe 53? And the seats look like mid seventies MonteCarlo. Help me out what else do you see? Buick or Nash grill?

I think I'd do something about those seats. Although they look like they would be pretty easy on the Roids, they dont look too Trad.

  3. Except for the seats,I think it looks really nice. Maybe just a material change.

possibly buick grille teeth,,,,maybe a caddy rear bumper?
i think if you put a 50s era seat in there and redo the upholstery (trad roll & pleats), the car would be outstanding

Taillights are prolly 54 chrysler or maybe de soto, the grille is 2 52 chevy upper bars molded with one upside down, almost sure that is a 49 buick insert. Don't know what the parking lights are.

Looks like a stock front bumper.

I agree about the seats, that needs a stock bench in tuck & roll. I'd also loose that antenna on the rear and french one in the front fender.

Neat car. I wish I could see the wheels better.

  7. Love the rear treatment.Looks kinda like a 55/56 Ford front bumper on the rear. Not in love with the grill.I would go with a more traditional interior.

The back bumper looks like a 52-4 Ford front bumper to me.

I agree with everyone else, the only thing I'd change would be to swap the seat out for a stock one.

Here's a few more pix. I think the car was built in the late seventies or early eighties maybe. It has a working AM/FM 8-track in dash and drive train is all of that era (350/350 combo, Nova rear). I agree the seats must go. But they are soft on the roids.
The car is ready for a freshen up. What do you think, should I leave style as is or think along lines of chop, bags, etc.?

I agree with John, leave it alone, it is cool as it sits.

I'm a little confused about the wheels, chrome reversed w or w/out caps or the moons. Which is it.

Personally I like the chrome reversed but I would add spyders.

I have to agree with John and Bob K. this one doesn't need to be chopped or bagged.
Just a fresh coat of paint with some of the details we can't see in the photos attended to and a more traditional interior. The seat might work with a more traditional upholstery job on it. That Looks like Mid 70's Caddy or Buick velvet to me. Hard to beat for couch like comfort though.
I'll say one thing, If it was mine, I'd grin like a Chessie cat.

I think the rear bumper is a '54 Ford rear and the grille bars are Buick.
The car is a very nice looking car just the way it is. Only thing I'd change is the seat and maybe those grille bars.

The car came with the smoothies. The others are some I had around and just wanted to get a feel for different combos. I like the spyders idea without the skirts for a more aggresive look. I wonder how Radirs with w/walls?

I'm jealous. the interior could use an update, but I could learn to love it. I have a recovered 90 truck bench for a front, stock recovered rear, so I can't poke fun.

No, Fattymcquire is right: that is a front bumper. I think '54 Chevy, but it could be Ford. (And I'm glad to see the picture, because I've been thinking '52-54 Ford front bumper for the rear of my '51 Chevy and now I see that it looks good!)

Sorry, not a Buick (although they are cool for sure).
It's my son T.J.'s car, a 59 Chev. Belair all door. He needed a family car and this has fit the bill just right.
