I give up. Does anyone know what fastended the vent window frame to the divsion bar? There is one hole at the top and two at the bottom.
This is a photo of my vent window parts before I started reassembling them. And assembled,, They are healed in place with rivets.HRP
that is what I thought, I must not have the correct length. My other problem is my rivet tool dose not fit in to the channel. I guess I will need to get my grinder out
Doing the same to my 50 Merc. Rivet at the bottom will probably be replaced by a screw. Top has a hole that the wing rubber (with tabs) goes through, and also through the divider bar felt, and bent down. I just threw a couple dabs of silicone in the middle and clamped it overnight. Can't see any probs so far......
My wife did mine, she made a tool for those rivets. Simple lathe job... Then she did a mandrel to back the rivet up, held it in the vise. Peened the rivet with her reshaped drift.
My wife didn't install the rivets but I used a long nosed thin drift to install mine also. I found some extremely short nut's and flat headed screws for the top,,the rubber covers the nut. HRP
I ground my pop rivet tool down to fit in the divider bar channel to attach the frame. For the sealing strip with the brass rivets I peened them over with a punch and a few dabs of epoxy.
