Final clear went on the other day. Almost done! Off top Ron Magnus interiors next week. This paint is amazing, the candy is real deep and with the metal flake flames. Bam! I have the pop I'm looking for. Not your everyday paint or your normal kustom MERC! You have to see it in the sun.

  10. Hey Tim i did not know you started a new tread. I just add a few pics to the old thread i took yesterday afternoon with my junk shop camera but a few came out fairly good. The black stripping realy made the flames PoP

Wow I am a pushover for the Blue paint. Amazing gloss in the picture and I can only imagine seeing it up close and personal. Great job and excellent choice on the paint combination.

Wild Bill out of Riverside California did the pinstripping. Were also going to give him the dash which is all blue metal flake with candy over it.
  17. Got most of the chrome back and installed the front bumper and thought you might want to take a peak. Also took a few more pics

  19. Nice car Tim, what wheel setup you planning?
  20. Got all the little last minute little detail stuff installed and working and yes it running :) so it's off to Ron's shop tomarrow. Here are some of the last parts that needed to be installed before going to Ron's for its white & blue flake interior. Check out the insterment pannel plastic. It was in real bad condition, very scratched and yellowed. I sanded it down on both side till it was clear again and then i painted the back side white and when dried i then sanded off the white leaving only the letter & number looking like new. Then i painted the back side in a few light coats of blue candy. Then i painted the front side in a clear. It looks almost like its a newly made custom pice but if you look real close you can still see some slight blemises in the plastic.

who does the paint at that place? I've seen some really nice shit come out of that shop over the past few years.
  22. That's not a easy one to answer as it's not just one person. We work as a team here so it's not all done by one person. I personally donot pull the triger on 80% of the painting. I over see all of the painting and do some myself but mostly all the color mixing, paint effect and art work style

Impressive, can't wait to see the interior!
  27. Hey, Tim & I say thanks for the kind words. Got it up and running so i had to take it for a quick spin even thoe it was not realy ready :D. Everything worked so i parked it out front with hopes of getting a few pics in bright sun light but i was to late. I know i know i need to do some yard work

  28. Looks amazing. Minor question, what rims are those in back?

  29. Hey John. The rims on Tim's merc are made from parts that are normally used to make late 80's Caddy front wheel drive wheels. They are 5.5 wide and i made them with a 1.5 front spacing. I can not find anyone who has these parts anymore :( But used ones should be all over the wrecking yards for close to free. They have about a .75 front spacing so you will need to remove the center and shorten them about 1" and then weld them back in at the spacing you need.
