GreenGrenade, I color sanded and polished the doors, around the front and back glass, installed the front and rear glass and started on the one piece door glass. It was a bit of a pain and I haven't finished but I'll get back on it tomorrow. The drivers side glass was in but was hitting the regulator because nothing was holding the front of the channel. Here is a couple pics of the steel I had to cut and bend to get the c channel deep enough. [IMG]</a>[/IMG]

Here is the channel going in.

By the way, the black urethane glass glue gets EVERYWHERE. That stuff is a nightmare to work with. You can see some of it on the door where I tried to get the c channel in the first time.

    Hi Kevin!

After you cut all of those bits out, it makes a LOT more sense!!!

Did you use Grinder? Cutting wheel? other??

  4. Window urethane is horrible stuff.....I use the 3m super weatherstrip adhesive (black) to hold stuff together. Excellent glue!

I wonder if you need to move the regulator forward to center it on the longer glass? Never done the 1 piece window.....any info or pics would be great!

    .... from today

Hi Kevin, I am just doing the one piece glass on a &#8216;51 f1
but with power windows, not sure if the kit (?) is the same but as yours and can not see the post with the pictures of the brackets so I&#8217;m not sure if these are the brackets that you have, they support and add on to the front of the new channel ?

I have printed instructions, (just so so, no illustrations) some shop pictures, and links to some installations PM me if you would like any info I have. :)

Very true gents, I started a new job recently and it is very stressful so sometimes after work, the couch and a beer sound better than anything. I have not given up. Calm down to a panic. haha I'll get 'er done. And to put the icing on the cake, after SoCal Edison replaced the powerlines in front of my house, I came home from work the next day to find this....... FML. This kind of stuff can knock the wind out of your sails.... rusted metal shavings/dust in my brand new paint. I'm currently trying to file a claim.

    Wow!

Is that ingrained, or just sitting on top?
Tried to wash/buff it out yet?

PS - your progress rate is the type that most leads to a finished truck.
Your thread has jolted me to ignore all other projects and put my hands on my truck or the first time in YEARS.

    My biggest holdups were;
    • Money for driveline refurb
    • Custom dash requirement (LHD > RHD)
    • Too many other projects
    • Trying to nut out a one-pieces window solution
Other projects/parts have been sold, work promotions have been aggressively sought, and the accelerated driveline refurb outsourcing is scheduled.

I have looked with fresh eyes, and have figured a way to do my custom dash within my limited skillset, and work has started.

Kevin (among others) has helped me with info/pix on the trickiest parts of the one-piece window setup!

Shit - I'm ignoring the Grand Prix on the TV right now and getting back out to the garage!!!:D

Last night I was up til all hours working out wiring diagrams between my Ford Starter/Ignition/Gearbox, 80s Ford fusebox, 70s GM column ignition & Combo Wiper/Blinker stalk, 70s Mini wiper motor & 59 Poncho gauge cluster!!!:eek::eek:

    Thanks for the inspiration!!!

If you think you're NOT building something here......you're kidding yourself!!!!

Color sanded the paint again today. It's not perfect but it will do. This truck is made to be driven. The claims department said it could be 30 days before I hear anything so I cut my losses and will live with decent paint. Got the new hood hinges on thanks to 226 flattie! Thanks again man! Threw the hood on and went and did some burnouts.

I just need to finish the channels on the side glass next.

badass truck... I like what you've done to the truck so far.

That front suspension is scary. Those struts should be triangulated to the firewall and hooked into the front frame.

It's raining at my house so not yet. I was hoping to prime it today, block it tonight and paint it Monday. Damn weather isn't cooperating at the moment. Here's a couple pics. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374354787.785386.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374354828.654686.jpg

Got the grill, well most of it back from powdercoat after I beat the dents out of it. The teeth had to be redone because there was drips at the bottom and looked like crap. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374725308.641019.jpg
