If you don't know where "the Murph" is, then you're undoubtedly too far away to attend anyway ;)

Qualcomm is Jack Murphy. Only the locals still call it Murphy. Right next to I-15 north of downtown can't miss it!

Jack Murphy Stadium was named after a local San Diego sportswriter who was instrumental in bringing professional sports to our city. The stadium sold the naming rights to the highest bidder, and it is now called Qualcomm, but locals will always call it "the Murph".

It's called the Big 3 because it was put on by the model T, the model A and the Early v8 club, and there is a lot of chevy parts by the east side of the swappmeet next to the Stadium in the overflow section. As to Pomona, it's sucks, I sold there for years and quit going, nowdays , it looks like "Storage Wars," sofas and lamps and all kinds of garbage for sale , and nothing car related.

We will drive over from AZ. Got a list of stuff for the 40 and a shorter list for the 49. And if you go down under the Metro tracks, you can find lots of Chevy parts and menudo.

It's easy catch the trolley in old town and it drops me off right at the entrance.

Been there many times, if ones serious about finding that one last part just to be able to take that 1st ride around the block, this is the place that you'll find it. To me it's equal to Turlock. Helluva lot of walking though.;)

  24. I'll be there Sat., last year started when they opened and couldn't finish when they close.......so much stuff to look at.
    Great swap.

Hey Mike, how does the Friday thing work.....you need to know a seller or you just walk in like the weekend?. I might have a friday off one of these years.

I would say it's a lot bigger than Turlock and Pomona. Vendor spaces have been sold out for years, but there are still some car coral spots available. Sadly , the Stadium is going to get torn down, and I don't know where they would move such a large venue to. Hopefully this won't be the last one.

  26. Just walk in like Sat.....They wait until Noon to let you in....Only 75% of the vendors are there, but then it's not too crowded either...

Buyers get in free but they do charge you 10 bucks to park.

  29. True, but the handmade tortillas and mexican food and cerveza in old town seem to make the sore feet go away:D
