Lets see some pictures of period correct 50's customs. Im looking for that perfect 50's stance, no bags, the way it used to be.

  2. You probably won't get many takers on this one. We have some fellas that build real period correct customs but for every one of them there are 20 or 30 that think that bags and other mini truck concepts apply to traditional rods and customs.

OK now someone prove me wrong please. I would like to take a gander at some real period correct customs or even old customs myself.

There's already a pretty big thread that started off with '40s era builds but bled into the '50s-style. Do a search - there are a lot of beautiful cars on there.

  8. Not a great picture that I had taken 20 years ago of my 59 Mercury but no bags, just cut coils and blocks the way they should be! Dragged the lakers and tailpipes over everything!

This is mine, cut coils, blocks in the rear, 6 volts, fishtail exhaust tips that drag, short lake pipes from the mid 50's, matching real spots, as well as Olds hub caps popped out like on the GrapeVine.

If you don't have a picture to post or an actual productive comment, don't post on this thread... I'm tired of deleting horseshit.

Here's mine with a C not a K. No metal fabbing, just lowered, raked, period interior pleated, a swamp cooler, wide whites, rings, poverty caps and a rack for the xmas tree. There are others out there that are more and those that are less Custom, i think it is interpretation on what the owner grew up with and where.

Look I'm like Greaser - I would like to see some current cars that are going the route like I am - no bags, 1-800 parts, trying to put a car together as if today is 1956. The clone to Junior Conway's car is a great example - if you haven't read it on here you got to - it's great, and it will get you right what it was like in the mid 50's building a custom.

There were so many different styles in the 1950s but the early 50's Customs are what makes my boxers fit tight.

  25. Man it would be cool to get a hold of this truck and bring it back to this rather than the pink rolling billboard it is now.:(
