Went to the Decatur Tx. swap meet this afternoon and found some 16" hubcap collars. When I got home I went to snap them onto my 16" 40 Ford wheels and the center hole is hitting the hub. Do I need to take these to a machine shop and have the hole cut larger...any suggestions???

Not ma deal for the Ford wheel, but your idea of having the center hogged out by machine shop might just work.

  6. If you make the big hole bigger ( and hope they fit ) you will see a small portion of your rim between the hubcap and said collar. Better of just getting the standard trimrings everyone else has for these wheels. Have you tried mounting them to the rear side of the rims to see if the tabs actually hold everything tight in place ? Just for the hell of it, see what happens on a 15 inch rim .

They might work on a 16x5 ford wheel
They have a little deeper outside offset

Tried the 15" wheel and the collar is too large . it cant grip the inside of the wheel.
