i just picked up a 500 caddy (1979) and was wondering if it would mate up to a 1964 caddy 429 tranny.i just redid the tranny for the 429 but the motor is in rough shape.i am also building an intake with dual webers for the 429 (see my posts for pics) and was wondering if it would bolt up to the 500.the 500 is still in the car running like a champ(57000miles on it)so i figured thats one step closer to getting the set up to work, rather than wait for some scratch to redo the 429. i figured worse case senerio ill build some runners to bolt to the stock intake on the 500 so i could mount the dual 44s. any input would greatly be appreciated.

The 429 uses a different bellhousing pattern than the 472/500/425/368 family. Also if the motor is a '79 it is a 425 not a 500. 500s were only made from '70-'76. The 425 was made from '77-'79. The 429 intake is completely different from the 500.
