50 merc door width?

    Can some one out there tell me the width of a 2 door merc? A friend is going to make a 2 door out of a 4 door and needs the width. Thanks guys.

    51 3/4 measured at the side moulding holes.

    Just in case it will help, a 51 Merc convertible door is 51 1/8 wide at its middle where it is even with the top edge of the lower rear quarter. That does not include the 1 /2 inch lip that slips under the front fender. Also the door is not the same width. It has a taper.

    My measurement is at the moulding holes from the back edge to the front edge behind the fender.

    I remeaured my 51 convert. door along molding clip holes and it is also
    51 3/4 just like yours. Looks like coupes and converts use the same door.Thanx.

    Thanks alot guys. I just call my friend and gave him the news. He said he will have to use all most 1/2 of the back door to make the front this size. thanks again for all the help. Jerry

    If he needs 2 door window garnish moldings there are some for sale on ebay right now.
