I got some metal in my eye, so I have to take a break, so I figured I would share my build so far.

So the story is I put on a Roadster Run and a Reliability Run each year and it is coming up on July 15th.

    more info on that here.

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=697784

At any rate, I sold my roadster to put a down payment on a house with some land and a shop. Something I never have had. Every car I have built has been outside in the driveway.
Under a car port or in the dirt.

Here is the car I sold. :( Hard to do, but it went to a good home in Oregon.

Bottom line is I really did not want to be with out a roadster for my own run................

So, I sold that car on May 26, and that same day it sold I went and picked up this 29 roadster body and frame with title.

I was building it with the Model A frame, which was twisted about 1 1/4", which
    I could fix.

but then I was offered an original 32 frame, for a great deal. thanks Rick

So I gather up some parts from around the yard

Old chromed 33 axle, with 32 wishbones, and spring. and a 33 rear axle.
the 33 rear axle actually had a stripped key way on one axle so I started searching for another.
And came across a 34 rear end out of a 3 window. We pulled it out an I got it for a great deal. When I get home and check the ratio...3:54 unbelievable. I was happy to say the least.

Then I found another cowl to fix the firewall that had been hacked out for a mid engine back in it's race car life. The car was also channeled, but I found subrails from another freind.

Drilled out all the spot welds, and fit it into the new roadster

Then after I spot welded it back into the car, I had to repaint the areas that were welded.
what to do? I didn't have time to do body work and repaint the whole car.

So I taped up some old timey scallops. In my dirt "paint both" haha
    yes I am a hack.

Then I robbed the motor and transmission out of my 33 coupe. it was hard to take apart a
running driving car, but sometimes it has to happen. the 33 is getting an Olds and lasalle any way.

Now along the way I have been helped out tremendously by many of the hot rodders round here, and in particular by my budy Mike Sauers.

He found me the 32 motor mounts and anti chatter rods. He had a cut down 34 torque tube
to fit the 32 frame. He had a 32 sector housing so I can use my 33 steering box. And some BLC headlights.
And his knowledge about this stuff is priceless. thank again Mike.

So yesterday some friends came over and we set the body on the chassis for the first time
and it finally is looking like a hot rod.

My budy Matt Seret worked his magic fixing my radiator so I can run a fan, thanks Matt.

I still have a long way to go.

But hopefully my eye will heal quickly and I can get working on it again.

And I hope to drive it on this years run.

with 17 days left I think I can make it. Or at least die trying.

wish me luck, I need it.

Eyes heal quick....for a standard chunk of metel with a rust ring that they have to bore outta your skull....usually bout 48 hours....

that said, blow the metal outta your hair next time (thats how i got my metal in my eye....was wearing a hood, when I took it off all the dust fell in my face)

Build looks flippen sweet! wish I could have gotten mine done in less than two months!

That belongs to a club member in LA

next up on the chopping block

I have made progress, but I'm too busy to take pics.

    Drive shaft shortened
Rear end is mounted and brakes plumbed

    Half way done mounting wishbones.

half way done building a 32 pedal box from scratch

    steering done

to much to list what needs to get done.

    back to work

Excellent roadster that you sold, perfect. Glad you realized other dream, your home. All the best to you with your next dream, the '29. You are the epitome of the hot rod spirit.

Very nice. Did you pinch the frame on this car, or your old roadster? If so could I get some details? Thanks.

Wow, that looks fantastic. If this one comes out as good as your old roadster or that coupe, it's going to be a total badass. Keep it up.
