I remember years ago seeing a 5 carb manifold for a V-8, I think it was for an Olds. The carbs were arranged in an 'X' configuration with the primary carb in the center. It might have been here on the HAMB; at the time I saved a picture of it but that was several computers ago and I can't find it.

Does anyone else remember this or am I crazy?

I saw one for sale at Moultrie. Corner carbs were Scott FI and center was a 97.

There was a Ford or Lincoln experimental V8 made thus in mid 1950's...someone here will have the old "Ford at 50" book that has a picture of it.

  4. Here are some pictures of the oddball Olds intake that I saved from previous posts.

I wonder what the air cleaner looked like for that?

 5 separate small air cleaners or frog mouth scoops.

It looks like cast iron to me, which suggests it may be a factory piece. Also, the "FIRING ORDER" cast into it leans to factory production. One thing for sure, it ain't home made. Anyone have any information on the maker or intended use?

The two pics of the manifold with carbs looks fabbed, the four out side carb mounts brazed on..the two pics with out carbs shows cast one piece.

You're right. They're two different manifolds (or somebody did the world's greatest cleanup job before he painted it).

I think "GOTHA" made pipes you could cut holes in your cast iron manifold and weld into to make a cheap multi carb manifold. I borrowed this pic fom a different thread that also has the same manifold as above.
