I've got a 1988 Nissan pickup 2wd that just got totaled out and was wondering about saving the 5 speed trans. Does any one know if it is adaptable to any other engines? Ford Flathead or early chevy 6cylinder, etc. Hate to just scrap a good 5 speed that I know is good. Thanks for any info, Tomcat 1

Bellhousing is built in, iirc. Sell it to someone with an automatic 240sx. They will love you for it. I swapped a 5 speed into my 240, it was a very fun car with a stick.
When I put the 5 speed in my chevy, I used an s10 t5. not as tough but easier to use.

Anything can be made to fit.It probably has a pretty low first gear ratio? Hate to mention Jap 4 cylinder engine here?,but they are rugged and there's usually a lot of performance stuff available, build a lightweight rod
