I've lost my mind, and you guys and gals get a front row seat...here's a little background info...a week ago I got layed off, handed a sweet severance package and now I've got too much time on my hands and the weather is looking beautiful, so rather than mow my lawn and do landscaping I've decided to build an entire car in 5 months and drive it to the Minneapolis Messaround car show...and when I say "build an entire car", I'm not shitting, here's some pics...

I've got nearly all the parts I need to get this done except for some Ford straight axle components (steering, spindles, spring, perches and shackles), but I should be able to acquire those as I go...hopefully this unemployment thing will work out for the best...see you at the Messaround!!!

This should be fun to watch. Keep us posted. And kudos for turning a "negative" into a positive, lay-off wise...

It's held at Memory Lanes in Mpls. formerly Stardust Lanes and it is Sept. 2nd this year...someone asked me to post a list of parts i needed and i will do that on monday in case you guys have anything i need for sale/trade...

  11. Should be do-able if you can work on it everyday. Here's my old 31 PLYMOUTH shortened 4 door but I never got it finished before somebody else wanted it more than me...
The photo is actually a chopped photograph of my non-chopped, but shortened car.

It's entirely possible with that much time available. I built my 54 Stude in 4 1/2 weeks for BTT50's a few years ago while working full time as well. That was a thrash but it happened. 3 weeks after completing it I had over 3,000 miles on it!

Good luck, seems doable. Keep in mind you've got to update us at least once a week.

  22. So, are you planning on leaving the bullet holes in the cowl? Real bullet holes just scream class. Where can I find more info on the Messaround?

The plan is a new 2x4 frame, using the back doors as suicide front doors, 400ci poncho/auto,62 poncho rear 3.23 posi, rear trailing arms, front ford axle with unsplit 'bone...plain and simple...

I haven't been able to find a "historical document" yet, i'm not picky about what make/model or year it's for as long as it's late 20's or early 30's...
