I have a 49 ford steering wheel and looking to remove the plastic center lens to paint the emblem underneath. I have everything apart except for the lens. How does that come off? Looks like it's 2 separate pieces but I'm unsure and trying my best not to break it

This is what I’m looking at. Trying to separate the clear plastic lens. Is this cast a singular piece and does not separate?

Well darn. So when I've seen these in red and black, those are aftermarket repop or ford made them in different colors?

  5. It looks like it is painted only on the back side. If you remove the paint, several layers, likely, it may be all clear. If so, you can then repaint it easily.

A real Barbarian would use a large stone hammer. :D

Seriously: What does the bottom look like? (I have a wheel off a '51, but the center is a large Nieuport looking affair.)
