just a few shots of Paco's gasser I have posted before. It is getting closer to the end of fabrication.
wow .. yes, thats very nice ...You do fantastic work roughly, what would it cost to get a car to that point at your shop if its ok to ask
I really like that, you dont see many Plymouth gassers, I cant wait to see more of it. What is going to power it? Jon
That's a really cool build. I was wondering, how is it to tilt the front end, keeping the fenders intact? Seems like the fender bottoms would scrape the cowl on the way up and over...
Very kool..love to see how it turns out!!I have freind who got close with a 49 dodge gassser project but never finshed her.
Loooking Good. I especially like the rolled pan on the rear. That will work for any street 49-52 ply. N B R
the entire front clip slides forward first. if you look at the second picture it has been pulled open. it gets a Big block chev for power, and big ole fenderwell headers. more shots of it are here.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197864&showall=1 and also here http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d136/AzGreggG/Pacos%20plymouth gasser/
Hey my name is richard conboy I was just wondering if you had some close ups of what you did on the front end? I have the exact same Plymouth special deluxe and I am trying to figure out how I am going to mount my front end. You did an excellent job on yours. Cheers Richard Conboy
http://www.allwayshotrods.com/fgallery/5 here are some more shots, I still have a batch taken just before it left for paint to add to the website. the car was a TON of work. I will post more about how it was all done tomorrow.
just an update so that you guys can see the progress on the plymouth since it left our hands.... here are some photos...
That color is ugly as fuck, and a BBC is kind of boring...man, what a let down...your shop did great work though Gregg...pity it wound up looking that cookie cutter ugly after it left your place...
I think it's a super nice car and some with some lettering or something, that color will be fine I bet. A BBC in a little coupe like that will be a riot too.
49 plymouth was my first father son project but we had to sell after he was pralyzed in a motorcycle accident. Ive always thought of getting one and re-doing it. Very cool car.; Letter with some gold leaf...ummmmmm
That's great! I have a '49 Plymouth project, too. And wasn't the Ramchargers' "High & Mighty" sort of the mother of all gassers?
It looks like a Halloween Twinkie more than Cheez Whiz...and while I bet that BBC will make it go like stink, the style points it loses for looking like a shiny version of someone's uncle's "throw every Mr. Gasket chrome dress up piece on it" '83 stepside pickup motor totally kills it for me...it was such a bitchin car, that's why I'm being so critical of it...again, you did some fantastic work on it Gregg, so you did your part...
Color looks great to me. I love orange! Don't know about the AC and "new style" aluminum parts on an "old race car" styled vehicle though. And (for about the 100th time) the "High and Mighty" WASN'T A GASSER. Larry T
Looks like the '50 Plymouth gasser we did about 45 years ago. In primer it had a 421 Pontiac and later there was a 320 inch GMC.
Larry T: I wondered if anyone wouldh catch me on that. Yeah, The High & Mighty actually ran in the alcohol fuel class. But we seem to call all rods with raised suspensions "gassers" now, so I still think it qualifies as the mother of all gassers. It certainly had the mother of all exhaust pipes.
" But we seem to call all rods with raised suspensions "gassers" now" Not all of us!! "It certainly had the mother of all exhaust pipes." Maybe, maybe not. LOL Larry T
orange is a bad color for a gasser style ride and big block chevys are no good for going fast. thanks for clearing that up. I would have hated going through life thinking the opposite was true.
