Of course, you can't please everyone all the time...and this is especially true with custom cars. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words...going back to work on the grille floater bar now.
Before I go, here's a teaser shot of the pieces I'm using to create the floater. I'm sure some of you will be able to identify what the pieces came off of..nothing is newer than '54.
First off I think the car is absolutely beautiful, unbelievable work, but I tend to agree that the rear guard looks "forced", it tends to take away from the "teardrop" flowing look of the car...mybe just the bullets shaved like the front?
That's one fine lookin' '49 you've got there! The fab work you do is insane! I love the way the taillights added to the flow of the back of the car! Real nice work man~Mojodaddy
Brian, I'm thoroughly impressed! Awesome work, subtle style. For what it's worth, I say keep the guard, it's perfect and with paint it'll be a no brainer. Hope to see you at the GNRS.
i always tell my non-hamber friends about this build, and they never believe me, looks awesome as always!
Nice choice on those tail lights. The whole thing is stunning, and I wish I could get to the GNRS to see it in person. Someday.....I hope.
Awesome work....simply awesome! The tailights look GREAT! And the bumper guard, while unusual, looks "correct"..... Looking at the cars built in the mid-late 50's, many cars had unusual parts added to make their car stand out from the rest, even if it looked a bit "off", they were still cool.... This car is going to be "spot on".....
Great stuff! I personally like the guard..I think it breaks up the uninterupted flow. If you just run a smooth back bumper and with all the other smoothness going on in back I think it needs a little something to catch the eye. (but if you change your mind I know where you can send the guard when ya take it off!!!!)
Bass, congratulations from Mexico too...outstanding work as usual!!! it's a a great inspiration for me to see all the tricky details performed... probably 1 of the best fleetines built EVER in my humble opinion... i can't wait to see it in real ,hopefully 1 day....sled
Same here. I have a print project to finish up for a shop that will be at the show and I almost had a stroke when I saw that. Real nice choice/work on those tailights Mr. Bass!
Damn! you make it look so easy, yet we know the amount of work and tallent it takes. Awesome.... keep us posted.
Great Craftsmanship, you just don't see metalwork like this very often. Overall, one well executed Custom
beautiful job,,it is definitely true that nice work takes time and the little details are the most important,,,,stunning car, and great informative/inspirational post,,,,,,,
