i want to find out anything i can about the early 1949 cad camshaft.its specific to the early 49 and reffered to as the spring loaded camshaft. what does that mean and is there interchangeability with later cams and how do you do it.

  2. It's specific to the early 49 only, apparently they were only produced for 14 or so weeks then changed design to the late style. The snout of the cam is hollow and a spring loaded plunger sits in in this hollow which lightly runs agains't the timing cover. To my belief there are no later cams to interchange but I think Kanters offers one as a special order.Hopefully someone can tell you more or correct me.
