What year(s) Mercury was made with the front fender stainless trim that was plain with no letters or design logo stamped into it? I have been told it was available on the "economy model" Merc. Anyone know the part numbers?

Thanks Matt, The reason I ask is because I bought a set years ago and have never seen another. They are the same configuration and length of the regular Merc front fender trim.
They are stainless. Maybe it was from a Canadian Merc.

Heard someone mention those economy pieces before. I'm using "rear pieces" on my front fender, but they are pointed shaped, not squared off like those in the picture.

Nope. These are definitely front fender trim only. I did some searching and found the part number. The 1949-1952 Mercury Chassis Parts catalog shows the following part number, make and model it came on.

OM- 16003-B, Moulding (front fender)- RH-Plain for 1950 Mercury Six Passenger Coupe (Custom), Model 72-C. OM-6004-B is for the left side.

It might have been from a Ford Monarch (Canadian Production). They wouldn't have been able to use the "Mercury" name on there since they were sold as Ford cars in the great white north. The plane Jane coupes should still have had the Mercury name on them.

I've never in my life seen them, not even on a business coupe.

Here's my official guess. If a 49 Monarch has 2 piece front fender trim, Ill bet this is what you find under the front half. ???????

I just bought a nos set without Mercury on them they are defiantly front fender trim and the old guy claimed that they came on a lower priced Merc. I have a buddy with a 50 he said his car had plain ones on it. Didn't know they had a lower priced merc

Canadian Mercs have the same stainless as USA counterparts, and the Monarch is completely different with chromed cast white metal tips. Larry
