What is the max cut spec for the front drums?

I always thought .060 was acceptable, but see next posting.

Merc manual says this. I think it's the same for all drums as it wouldn't make sense to allow a deeper cut on the front wheels which do most of the stopping.

Not much forgiveness! Thanks for helping me. Any recommendations for getting shoes, cylinders, bearings? My local parts stores have a bunch of yahoo's to deal with. Rather just have it shipped now. Thanks again!

  5. Yup, .030 isn't much to work with. If you opt for aftermarket drums, they might be good for .060-090.
