Fords use the 5 on 4.5 wheel pattern The Mercs and Lincoln use the larger 5 on 5.5 wheel pattern. The rears MAY exchange ( I do not know ) but the wheels will not .
were not too worried about the wheels just getting something else good under it, I've asked before about what 8 or 9 inch axles would be the closest fit with no response. I saw a ford rear for sale in a paper and wondered if it would fit.
I think the merc & linc. rears are wider than their smaller brother. the merc & linc. are spicer type rears also.not the same as 49-51 fords.
