49-50 merc od disassembly

I have the overdrive removed from my trans and I cant figure out how to remove the middle adapter that bolts the overdrive to the trans. Its part #7660 on the exploded view.

Once the adapter plate slides forward, pull clip 7666 and a clip in front of the spring on the shaft of the overdrive engage shaft. Remove pin 73757-s to remove the overdrive engage shaft from the case.
