Has anyone had any experience in fitting a 49/50 ford dash into a 1947 ford ?
Is it an easy fit or does it need cutting down etc
    Thanks in advance

  2. You'll have to narrow it at least, about 6".

I've got a '50 Merc dash I'm working on to install in my '47, and my plan is to cut away most of the OEM dash, retaining the perimeter ends and top. Then cut down/narrow the Merc dash shell and weld it to the OEM 'frame'. I don't know if the Ford dash is the same as the Merc (in terms of outside edge 'shape'), but the Merc dash is different enough that this is easier than trying to reconstruct all the mounting points.
