48 Ford carb 59a question

I have a 48 Ford flathead with a 59a carb. It starts up and idles for about 5 minutes then idles up then down. It does this about 4 times then dies. It has to sit about 10 to 15 minutes until it will start again. Any ideals.

Time to remove your carb and rebuild it.

Could be seat needle is sticking. Use only steel needle without rubber tip.
