Truck has a certain..."cool" quality about it. Might have some of these photoshop guys plug in a red wheel to match your stripe just to see how that would look. But I like it as is.

You can paint the wheels with the 1 shot from the logo.....I did mine and it has held up since 2005.

Your buddy wouldn't happen to be Rick Wagner of Raytown, MO would it? That truck is on page 33 of the ATHS Show Time 15th Collector's Special Issue from the 2008 National Show.

    Love your canopy express!

That looks like what we started with, once upon a time! I think my son was 12 or 13. He's 16 now.

    Even upgraded that once!

And after about 3 years and lots of pieces parts later...

She'll even do this once in a while!

My truck has been in the family since before I was born. I restored it back in 1987. the truck has been though a couple of rebuilds however the 6 cly is still in it. The 235 has split manifolds dual carbs 4 speed in the floor and a 355 rear gear. The 3/4 race cam helps it mantain highway speed.

my buddies Scott and Stan are doing the work for Klaus and Cindi now. My truck is going over next for some work, I think we're aiming for a T5 so it's more highway friendly.

Well, maybe when I pick up the 52 then you will have room for this one. ;)

Just read through this entire thread-it only took me 4 hours but was worth every minute! Great trucks and inspiration.

I have an extra 5.3 out of my truck which is a 2000 GMC Sierra. How hard it is to install one of these engine and what all electronics did you need to use? I don't know that I would want to do this but I am interested in seeing how it is done so that I can keep my options open.

Here's mine from a few years ago with 100 feet of fence in the bed. It was running a 261 with stock 4 speed drivetrain at the time. Its currently in my garage getting a GMC 302 transplant with a 3.08 rearend and either a 4 speed Saginaw or a T5 and disc brakes. I'm also painting it, that Omaha Orange is now Omaha Rust. I'm going cream medium with cape maroon accents. The truck was Cape Maroon under the Omaha but I think its a little dark for my tastes. The truck still has the original seat, instruments, and radio in good condition so I'm going to keep it that way.

I put a 5.3 in my 51 it was very easy you just have to get the wiring harness redone to elemenate everything you don't need and reprogramed. other than that its pretty much stand alone you just have to do something with the computer. Mine is in an old tractor box mounted to my inner fender.
