48-52 chevrolet pickup chop??

my buddy is looking to do a tasteful chop (not radical) on his 52 gmc pickup what is the amount you would chop it? would appreciate pictures of trucks with chop and inchs removed

 

Not more than four inches if you want to avoid the squashed "radical as my buddy says" look.

I've never read what Cole Foster's old truck was chopped but I figure right at 3 inches.


I'm thinking this one is 3-1/3 or 4 with slant posts like my truck.


My truck chopped 4 inches with the posts slanted


Very old photo of my buddy's truck that is chopped 5 inches and starting to have that fat gal sat on the roof look. I've given him a ration of crap over it over the years though.

 

if you chop it 2'' you wont have to split the roof

 

The rood isn't split on mine but the door glass is an issue when you do it that way. I don't have any.
