Does anyone know the correct Melling or another major brand number, for the 472 Cad oil pump, that has the 90 degree oil filter mount for clearing tie rods etc. I believe it's called the "special chassis pump". Mine has the angled filter mount and it hits steering linkage in my 49 Buick with a Trans Am clip. Brian

I'm thinking some of the Cad info says to use a 425 pump but will have to dig out my how to build a big inch Cad book to see if that is correct.

Is there enough room for a spin on filter, or did you still have to use a remote filter?

I did some research on this for mine. I haven't gotten to it yet but the 425 oil pump looks exactly the same as the special chassis pump.

    Short spin on works fine...
