Re the oak wood on the ramp......think about using System3 epoxy sealer before your install. Works great to stabilize and protect the wood; and can be finished gloss or satin. Used it on my show boat trailer, love it!
I'm sure there are importers who supply it. Try RivaWorld....

    Hey

Nice build! I really dig it.
How are you gonna get cars up on it? 2 small ramps or a winch opperated roller back?

Do you need to run modern hub cabs on yor front wheels? We do in Denmark, and that makes the look of the wheel go totaly away from the period look, unless the MOT guy is more nice then he haves to be, with is rare.

Keep at it, I'm looking forward to se how you skin the bed.

  7. i am using 2 ramps of 2.5 meter long

and no restrictions on hubcaps or wheels as long as it wont stick out of the fender to much (max 3 cm)

  8. This is really coming along nicely

  9. here a front view with only the left fender wider
    [IMG]

the right fender is wider too now
    [IMG]

now i am working on the running boards
    [IMG]

and pieces for the lower skirts

  10. and also made one front fender wider Probably should widen both

yes i listened to you :D:D:D::p

Wow! That's even more than I thought it was..

I have a 1000 gallon tank I fill once a year, had it filled about 6mo ago at $2.97 a gallon delivered. At the pump I think it's around 3.35. The tank paid for itself the first year I owned it :D

Texas is cool, there are many small oil wells just down the road from me..

  12. picked up the rear fenders at the forwarder
and cut of a piece to make it fit and add some new metal to the fender

Just read this thread all the way through and really enjoyed it. I like the craftsmanship thats going into it too. One question; if the motor and transmission have to come out for overhaul will they come out the bottom? I was looking at the mounting brackets, (nice trans mount by the way) and the thought occurred to me. Subscribed

This is a really great build! Your fabrication demonstrates a high level of skill.

  18. If the engine needs to go out for some reason it should be able
from the bottom but the complete ramp can be removed too

  19. today i have finished the runningboard on the left (just another one to go :))
and added some steel to the fender to make it look right to the wheels .
and done the right rear fender

Oh yeah! This truck is gonna be badass! The rear fenders work really well with the cab and front fenders.
