A little off topic but this got me a little ticked .... being Canadian and all: "about the imperial and metric system here in Canada it is totally screwed up here," Fact: there are only THREE countries on the entire planet that do not use the metric system. Two that nobody gives a shit about and the one that thinks its the centre of the universe. So when it come right down to it, who's really screwed up ?!?!?
You are. Clearly. My '27 T Roadster build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t= 734383
If your friends were jumping off of a cliff, would you jump too? Face it, all the cool kids are using standard!
x2! This build is waaaaay too cool to get shut down over that petty shit. That's why I have standards in one box, and metrics in the other. Sometimes they just can't get along, 'ya know?
Thank you very much for your excellent work and sharing with everyone. I had a very enjoyable evening following your build...
What is the plan for your headliner? Will you transfer each paper panel to the black interior board, or metal or fiberglass or ? will you tie the paper pieces together and make a long rear surround piece? I am VERY curious because I need to do my headliner...so post all kinds of pictures (thanks!), and make a spare headliner and ship it to me...HA!!!
thank you the plan on the headliner is steel, i will do an attemp tomorrow ..... i first made the paper templates then traced them to the zincor sheet metal and what you see in the last pic's are them bolted in place. i still need to trim them at the top a little, to get the same arc as in the front, for the headliner. i could ship you the paper patterns if it all works out ? that would be a lot cheaper in shipping costs did i miss something
Looks great! Are you going to finish and paint the interior or leave as is. There is always flat white primer HaHa
Loving the build! I always thought going the roll-back route would be the hot ticket, but your build just utilizes space better and keeps things simple. Using paper for templates is the way to go. It works great for structural stuff too like batwings or boxing plates, just use old cardboard boxes.
today i have been playing with the interior panels again, got all the side panels finished. and started on the paterns for the roof panel from 2 pieces of thick cardboard the plan is to make a one piece roof panel and add some beads to it for extra strenght
Looks awesome corvettesander! I am new to the HAMB and am enjoying this thread. The design and fabrication are great. Looking forward to following your build.
have been working on the roof panel, the plan to make one piece changed to a 2 piece with a center brace first i made a center brace then i trimmed the cardboard patterns and traced it over on the sheet metal and added some decorative beads and installed it in place, and just one to go.
since i made the fenders an inch wider, i had to trim the doors a little so they would'nt hit the wider fenders, but when i checked the fit of the rubber fender pads, the door touches the rubber pad on the outher edge while opening the door so i have made 'm flush with the fender problem solved
Brilliant detail! My '27 T Roadster build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t= 734383
Everything you do on this build goes into my brain and rattles around. The details you think of on the fly are great. Love the headliner panel. May have to steal that idea and throw my own flavor on it.
no problem b-bop your welcome today i have done the other fender and did some small repairs on the body
