Water pumps on all 1964-1990 Olds V8s (except the 1964 394) interchange. There are three lengths made (measured from gasket surface to pulley flange): 5.1", 5.6", and 5.95". The shortest ones came on the early motors. Note that 1964 pumps have a drivers-side inlet. All other years had a passenger side inlet. Your best bet is to have the parts store pull one and measure it.

Does the water pump pulley interchange with any other motors? I'm dealing with the same issue. But, now I'm trying to find a pulley to work with it. I only need 1 belt. Also, Ive heard shorter fan clutches are available, but haven't found any of those either.

The shortest one is from a 65 cutlass 330 .
I use that on my 435 BB Olds with a SBC alum. pulley . one pulley required a shim from the mr. gasket water pump pulley shim kit but a differant brand was perfect, get them at swap meets for about $10 used .
Some early motors used no fan clutch .

No swap meets in the winter here. Let me know if you find a specific pulley that fits. Tried usin my stock 3 belt pulley 1 belt back with a 5/16 spacer, but no shaft left to center the fan/clutch. Thanks for the help, 65 water pump is installed & awaiting nice pulley find!
