I have a 41' f'glass Willys sitting on an S-10 chassis that I made a set of front Nerf bars (And grille). Anyway, I'd like to do the same on the rear but it's a bit more involved... Anyone done it? Not much traveling space for clothes or tools and would like to hook-up a receiver hitch & attach an Army style foot locker arrangement to carry my stuff... Ideas?
Here's my rear nerf and trailer hitch setup. The nerf bar slides onto the receiver thing along with the trailer hitch. The nerf bar bolts onto the trapezoid piece which has holes cut in it for trailer safety chains. I came up with this since I really didn't want holes through the rear panel where the tailights are located. Only problem is that trailer hitches are a sloppy fit inside the square hole but I bought a u-bolt setup from Amazon which addresses this problem. I need the trailer hitch to pull my teardrop trailer.
First of all... Thanks for your response! I (And some friends) haven't been on this site in a while because there always seems to be someone with a wise-ass answer or a "Click of guys" thinking they know it all and that the rest of us know nothing. Anyway: Your rear body pan sits higher than mine, I'm guessing that you have a bar you can attach to, across the frame to mount the Hitch & Nerf, but I don't. My frame doesn't extend back (Or across) rearward enough. My frame ends about 2 inches past the rear leaf spring mount... I wish my body style was easier to do (Thanks again)!
