Well...Bill originally started a thread before I had time to get pics downloaded. He read about guys getting trashed for calling things barn find and wanted to know what would be considered a barn find. Then the post got deleted? So - I took your suggestion and ran it this way. Seems to have worked out fine so thanks!

  6. @55xgasr - I was just surprised that you used my suggestion ... but I guess it was a pretty eye-catching title since this thread has gone to 5 pages and almost 5,000 views in just 24 hours! :)

Now that is a nice find but I just dont think there are many original parts on there, I mean didnt they come with blown Hemis and drag slicks? I think its been lowered too...........

Then again it may just be the drugs.......

    Doc.

Truely glad you are leaving it as is!!! Customs and hot rods would not be as cool if we didnt have stock vehicles around.

    Hey Shakey!
The Appraisal was 10K & was very hard to appraise as it was a pile of dust & not knowing the shape like Rusty? Motor shape? been sitting so long would it run? Real easy now to appraise! Whats bitchin is the saw dust & truck never saw daylight for 40 some yrs! The saw dust took up all the moisture & OR has moisture! The windows were both down so saw dust filled interior & after cleaning the seat & panels they are soft & like new! Radiator half full antifreeze & gas tank 1/2 tank & didn't smell like thinner! Runs like a top! Waiting for new wheel cyls & master & then around the block it goes! Lets have some fun! If you were a appraiser what would you appraise it at now? The story to me is worth more than the truck! Tks Bill

I agree with the wheels statement. All stock with chrome reverse wheels & whitewalls.:D
I think someone needs to photoshop some wheels on it.

  16. just wondering what you think its worth now?

Because of the story & Pics & breathing all that dust & pulling a willys PU out of a mound of wood! (you had 2 have been there) I think its value is Priceless! Tks Bill

I can't recall EVER hearing of a car that was restored 42 years ago, then found in such pristine condition. Maybe in 20-30 years one might come across another find like this...if ever!

    Truck, $150
    Gas to get, $150
Breathing saw dust and working for hours trying not to explode,,,,,, Oh yea.
    Man thats nice.
How could you estimate the value?
Like everyone else said "Waddya gonna compare it to"?

  21. Semi stock.
The truck originally came with the Willys Go Devil flathead four. The L head in the truck is much newer. I'm sure it bolted in, so nothing was butchered. Probably a nice upgrade from the original engine

    Very cool!

I don't like the chrome reverse wheels on that truck.

Your coupe is definitely bad ass! What's the turquoise '55 hiding in the right of the pic of the other '55?
