Got some initial pics of the 392. It's a 58 Chrysler block with an A1 casting. It will be checked for cracks etc to ensure we have a good one to start with. It will have a .030 bore. More pics soon.

Here's a few more pics.I know it seems that its all going extremely fast with this engine build, but I've just been a bit lazy in starting the thread. I do however want you guys to see the build up in sequence, rather than just showing a built engine. Hopefully this way its a bit more informative for someone also building an engine. Anyway, timing cover is going on in the first photo. I've decided I only want black and chrome on this engine, its nearly a shame that I'm running a hood! Next photo's: crankshaft and oil pump are being mounted.

Here's a good view of what's been done so far. Found these great M/T valve covers, should look really nice.

Oh, dude. Those M/T valve covers are just what you needed. That's going to be a killer looking engine bay.

I've had bad luck when I've called her b!tch. I put a 1/4 inch groove in the sidewalls of a set of Cooper Cobra's Monday. That run set me back about $500 bucks.

If I had to pay $500 dollars everytime I called the car bitch, I'd be broke. May just try to think of something else to call her........

Dropped the rear axle and the link system. Will cut the link completely off and weld a cross member for the new 4 link system. Going for a an air ride system with the bags behind the axle. Will need to fabricate two supports on the c notch. Just ordered an axle from Currie, a Ford 9 inch posi with 3.70 ratio. This will be able to handle at least 600 hp. Should be enough.......

Here's a better view. The pivot point of the link is half way down the car. Big steel bars were used by the previous owner making it very heavy. Time to lose some weight.

The Hemi should produce 500 hp. (the rear end is build to accept 600 hp.) Sorry for the confusion.

Back to the engine. New heads installed, I went for the aluminium ones from Hot Heads in order to lose some weight.Should lighten up the front end quite a bit. Valley pan (cover) also installed. These 392's are wide! No wonder they call them elephants.

I thought all Hemi's were "elephants". Ok, then I have a "whale". Will have an answer with regards to cam specs and compression ratio from my engine builder soon. I'll let you know.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Good to see that people are enjoying the thread. Like I said before, going for the Hilborn EFI. Absolutely not the cheapest option whatsoever, but I want to do it right the first time around. Even if this means having to stall the project for (short)periods of time in order to get the funds together for the best parts. These photos show the painted black base of the Hilborn injectors installed.
