After 4 years of on and off looking for a 41 coupe, I gave up the quest. Then suddenly out of the blue, this older restoration fell in my lap. Owned by 2, the last owner restored it about 25 years ago, lost his sight 20 years ago and stored it since. We drove it out of the cement barn for some time in the sun before I handed over the payment in a heartbeat! My plans include a chop like the beautiful car that Paucho built. His car has to be the coolest sled i can think of and has a lasting impression on me. For now, I'll lower using shackles but over winter I'll install a dropped axle. My driving plans: who knows but my main plans are short haul car shows and local cruising so Radials or bias are open targets. I'm looking for ideas for tire wheel combinations with that in mind. I wonder if some of you with 41-48's would mind sharing some pictures of your tire wheel combinations and if its not asking too much, share some tire sizes. thanks in advance for your help guys.
im running 205/75/15 on the front and 225/75/15 on rear diamond back brand radials on ford pu rims 6"wide front 7" out back...57 caddy hubcaps on all four now...radials are the why to go imo...
Dark red 15" wheels, dogdish Ford hubcaps, and trimrings. Maybe redline tires,...if you can find 'em. GREAT find.... drive and enjoy that one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4TTRUK
I think that car lowered as is on those wheels/ tires would be a perfect. That s not to say Id be shy about chopping it either though. Very nice score, Im sure your stoked.
Our 41 Ford 2-door is runnin 14" chrome reversed and baby moons with 1" wide white radials. It's a cruiser. Your car is too nice to chop and remove the chrome. I've seen very few with the chrome three piece grille left chromed. Don't tell me you're gonna pull the flattie and drop in a Chevy?
rebuilt flathead in there... she stays. I'd like to get it down a little, she's at least 5.6feet tall right now. No bags or anything wacked, just shackles for now, then a dropped axle at some point. Paucho's car is the coolest IMOP!
I'm running 205/75R15's in the front with 7 leaves in the front spring. 235/75R/15's in the rear to keep the stock speedo close.
