Wow, congrats! Just needs skirts, hubcaps and a couple of inches lower in the back for perfection, but you probably know that...

Very nice. You said you recently bought it in 2001 or is that a typo and you ment 2011. If so I know of one that was built about 5 or 6 years ago for a guy around Reddings ca.

I just got it but 2 owners ago was a guy in Tracey California named Wayne Hobbs and I have a registration from him in 2001. So I am hoping someone in the east bay will know this car. Or someone from the nor cal central valley area.

I owned a '41 Merc. convertible with a Carson Top in 1955. It was a nice looking automobile. I foolishly sold it to a neighbor who had a lot of money when I needed it. I only wish I had that car now. Nice machine, good ride and great lines. Look at what one is worth now in good condition.

Funny, there was a guy from Houston named Wayne Hobbs, truck driver by trade, who owned a nice Cali-built 41 Carson-topped custom convertible but it was updated with later sheet metal. He also owned a nice 31 A Roadster with an OHV converted 4banger and 32 shell and grille. Don't know who owns the A now but think Bill Wahlberg here in town owns the custom.

So sorry but Wayne died some years ago. Check the phone book for Bill Wahlberg. I don't know if he has left us yet or not. Both were/are nice guys with lots of early Ford knowledge and great storytellers! Wayne's 41 custom came from Cali back in the 60s, but it did have 46-48 front and rear sheet metal on it when he had it.

  20. Very cool. I love 41's, and the padded top on your car flows very well.
