This thread is useless without pictures. There I said it before everyone else did. I cam across a rusty pickup, complete with drive line and interior. Has rusty floors, rusty cab corners, top of windshield frame has rust, dents in most of the fender. It looks like a flat 6 in it. The owner said make him an offer but I don't have the funds or need it. Is there a resale of these trucks? I know there weren't a lot of them. I have been able to get titles before so that is not a problem.
as a stude guy, I say get it, save it, do what you have to do! post up over here if you dont mind joining and let them know about it: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forumdisplay.php?6-General-Studebaker-Specific-Discussion
What would you do if you saw your poor old grandma sitting on the side of the road? Stop and pick her up or leave her there..........Save the truck man!!
The the windshield is not a swing out. Rust is above the weatherstrip. Truck is sitting off to the side and I am waiting for him to give me a price on it. If I do pick it up, I will have to turn it as quickly as can.
Scrap prices in the next town are $15 a hundred. It'd be good to make friends there at the scales. People are selling old projects for scrap, counties are all over people like me who accumulate projects and toys. The one I am building now was bought because I didn't want to see it scrapped, under the surface rust and peeling paint is better metal than I hoped for. When you are needing "just one part", seeing one scrapped makes your eyes moist.
