Might need a front seat for a '40 Olds/Buick B body. Are most of those years/cars similar?
Any salvage yards I am aware of would have pretty shabby inventory this old but maybe some of the other makes would have a reasonable facsimile? I'm pretty much going to rule out Prius buckets ;)
I might have a deal cooking and the making of a pretty neat thread.
    Wish me luck!

Good luck. Looking forward to your thread.

  3. I bought a 40 Chevy seat for my Buick series 50. As long as you have the tracks, you should be able to adapt most anything of a similar width into the car. such as a guy I know who put an early 50's ford seat into his 40 Buick.

I believe 39 and 40 are the same, not sure about 41 and up. French lake auto parts (Skip is on hamb not sure of his handle) in Annandale MN has a number of cars to pick from. all of them would be for frames only, none are in good shape to use as is. On my 39 I used buckets and had to rework the floor,as it’s not level side to side.

The seat frames cross almost all series of GM. To simplify, think big ones and small ones. A Caddy seat is the same for a Roadmaster but not a Special. Small Olds, Buick, Chevy and Pontiac are likely all the same. Wouldn't surprise me to find the moutings are identical as well.
