Here is the most recent status of my 1940 Willys Coupe Build.

I now have a rolling chassis, just have to set the rear end angle then send it out to get painted. Also get the Labber Bars Chromed!

Let me know what yall think.

    Thank You,
Only history I have is that my Dad built it in the 60's. Has a 371 Olds with Hilborn injection and a B&M Hydro. Been in San Antonio area forever.

I think labber bars look better powder-coated.

You have what just about everyone here would love to have! And your Dad built it - it don't get no better.

'shooter54' thanks for that Inspiration pic.
Here is some more pics of the car.
One you can see that it is a pretty decent body.
One is what I found when I opened the hood!
One is when I was boxing the original frame.

    Enjoy

    Wow, that is cool.
It's very rare to see an all steel race car, since most gave up the fenders, deck lid and front end for the lighter fiberglass stuff. Must have been a B/Gas racer.

A suggestion for your frame boxing plates.....I narrrow mine so that a slight interference fit holds them INSIDE the "C" channel of the frame. Inset them
1/8th inch. Doing this leaves you a nice solid edge/corner for a strong weld.
Plus, it strengthens the frame considerably over a welded plate. Also, I used
.100 thick material.....a closer match to the original frame material, and a bit
easier to cut, shape, fit, than .125. Good luck....been there/done that.

'boogeracng' Thanks for the advise on box the frame.
'GaryB' I am going to use most parts from it and put them on a different engine.
