'40 rear model A

    hey, just picked up a good banger engine, trans, and a '40 rear for 300 bucks! i just want the shock brackets off it. question is, is there a good reason to hold onto it for my A? im just runnin the banger, dont have any plans for anyhing else. thoughts?

    Unless it has been updated with shock brackets from '47-'48, A '40 rear shouldn't have them. I would say that you have a later rear. Advantages are better brakes, better gears, also better (shorter) wishbones. disadvantages - a bit too wide for a model A. I'd hang on to it anyway... hopping up that banger you might need something a bit stronger.
