I'm pretty sure I remember the answer to this question, but.....being a geezer, I don't fully trust my memory. I have a 40 Ford gearbox...tranny, in excellent condition. I also have located a bare 1939 case. My question is will all the internals from the 40 pop into the 39?
I can imagine some replies suggesting I do this or that, but this is not my question. I am firmly set on swapping. If not feasible, I will fabricate a floor shift conversion for the 40 box.
By the way, this a GREAT site. LOTS of useful info.

  2. Yea, they will fit. You can use up to 48 gears.

Thank you. I was pretty sure having done the double research with parts manuals. THank you, Mike. Very much appreciated.

Just put a set of 46 gears in a 39 case. Works perfect.
