Heres my 41 its nothing special just an old driver 350 chevy 4 speed 55 chevy rear end,
    [IMG]

Heres my 40 it was my grandpa's old truck it had a hopped up flatty in it until mid 50s then he put an Olds engine in it, my grandpa sold it when my dad was 15(1960) afraid he would get hurt in it. I Finally was able to buy it back about 10 years ago and I just started on it a month ago, the frame is pretty close to being done and then on to the body, Plans are white with gold wheels and engine, white and gold interior, with bias ply white walls and olds hubcaps. First picture is when my grandpa had it, second is how it was when we bought it,

I'm working on a mold for the headliner for these trucks, the rear window treatment is up in the air at this time. Generally a guy can steal a few good ideas for something like this at car shows. That luxury isn't presenting its self at the moment. Looking at the gold colored truck above it looks like there is a garnish around the back window. I've never had one of those trux with a rear window garnish. It might just be the rear window seal. Can anyone say for sure. Help a guy out?

I just rechecked the article and it said simply " custom mix bronze, water based enviro base with clear coat"

Thanks , I'm digging this color for my 40 Coupe.

  11. graybearded......I'd be interested in your mold. I have looked at lots of 40-41 headliners and there's very few I like, most look like a puzzle the way there put together. Here's a few photo's I took of the Gold PU at the 2012 GNRS, no garnish molding, just the rubber. This truck is just awesome and it's headliner is one of the few I like.

We have a boat & RV storage, I thought to go to the back today where I have an extra cab. The window is broke in it but I could tell your correct, the rubber seal comes far enough in from the welded seam around the rear window that grips the seal to hold it in place. This headlinter will tuck in under the seal that will be all it takes in the back to hold it in place. Should have a few preliminary pictures in a week to ten days.

  13. flattyV8......Signage on the doors looks great! Looks perfect sit'n next to the old barn.

Mine as it currently sits. I hit it with a little Rustoleum where there was little or no paint and waxed it where paint remained. Just thought I'd pretty it up while it sits. Full tear down to start very soon.

what did you use for your rear bumper? Nice

  22. Zombie57.....great looking PU you have there!

George G.......I used a front bumper on the rear of my 40 pu, BUT had it flattened out to the Ford specs, the originals are very hard to find, checkout the bumper pics in my album.

rusty 1..........HEY....you did a great job on the lil' one, nice detail.Maybe some lettering on the doors & some sideboards??WAYYYY COOOOOL!!!

Can you tell if my bumper is original from the photo below ? I intend to shorten the mounting arms and bring it closer in to the truck.

some really cool rigs here! great thread. have any of you guys put a car nose on your '40 truck? Im thinking of using a 39 deluxe car nose on my 40 pick up. Any advice? thanks.

Best advice is it won't work.. :) They look similar but the bolt and seams of the passenger parts do not match with the commercial fenders and parts.:(
