   I know it's not the perfect engine, but it's cheap, etc etc.
   
   Here's a link that gives a lot of the differences between various years, etc that could make it a lot easier to pick the "right" engine or avoiding the "wrong" parts.

   I've got a '92 in my latest build, backed by a 4L60 trans... plenty of power, fits fine.
