I heard that you could put a 904/A500 on a 392 using the late model small starter with some block grinding. Has anyone done this?

  2. I have a buddy that matched a 904 to a 392 Hemi. He purchased an adapter, brand unknown, a plate that had locating pins to index the adaptor to the block, and pins on the other side to match to the transmission. It also included an adapter flange to match the crank to the transmission. It was spendy.
The link below is not the same as my buddy used, but the adapter is supposed to accomplish the same purpose.

  3. I use a dodge Dakota 318 starter. It works great. Hot heads has the adaptor.
